The FCHS Cross Country team has finished the 2007 season with upbeat and showing promise. In the Region 4-AAA meet the four remaining girls each clocked season best times. Paige Lowe (22:44), 12th, led the girls team to a very good showing. Rebecca Duckworth (24:05), Leanne Stovall (24:30), and Miranda Ray (25:32) gave notice that next year they have the potential, with similar improvement, to join the upper ranks of Middle Tennessee runners. Among the boys Jesse Brandon (20:23) posted his best performance. Freshman Thomas Knies (21:40) and Forrest Derryberry (22:20) both ran their season second best and showed a determination to conquer the deceptively arduous course at Cookeville High School. Team leader Matthew Farris (18:58), 14th, ran a good race after recovering from a strain two weeks ago. We are proud of the FCHS Cross County teams and look forward to continue and greater success in the next season. We congradulate these young people for the foritude and hard work they are doing as they represent our school and community.
