UPSET FALLS SHORT....REBELS WILL PLAY COOKEVILLE IN 1ST ROUND

The Franklin County Rebels closed out the regular season with a 17-16 loss to Columbia.  The Lions came into Friday night's contest undefeated in district play and ranked 5th in the state in Class 5A.  But the Rebels gave the Lions all they wanted as Terrance Martin rushed for 185 yards and 2 touchdowns.  Franklin County falls to 4-6 on the season but will take momentum into the playoffs having won 2 of their last 3 games and coming off an impressive performance against Columbia.  The Rebels will travel to Cookeville (7-3) on Friday night, which is the draw Coach Lee Atkins was hoping to get.  It's the first time in several years that a Rebel playoff team does not have to face a Murfreesboro school in the first round.  Check back to the Reb Web this week for more stats and information.
